Things to Look Forward to this Summer

Heroes of the Law (ATV) - Coming 7/30

I have no idea what this show is about. I only know that a lot of the cast from My Date With A Vampire is in it like Joey Meng, Kenneth Chan, and Pinky Cheung and that Joey Meng plays a forensic scientist. Hmm, the poster is really dark though, I wonder if this is going to be a "dark" series.

Twilight Investigation (TVB) - Hopefully Coming Soon

I am totally looking forward to watching this! I hope it comes out sooon, like how about releasing tomorrow, TVB!!! Linda Chunggg is in ittt and her role seems pretty darn funny, especially that scene of her where she fangirls Raymond Lam!!! HAHAHAAAA!!! I hope this series does NOT disappoint because all the other shows that came out this year were blahh...I had high expectations for them too but they let me down...so certainly hope this show won't disappoint. Yeahhh~

A Terracotta Warrior (CH) - Heard it'll be out this summer

Ady An!!! Terracotta Warriors!!! Awesome combination!!! Adyy, miss you miss you! Autumn's Concerto in my heart...always. Ahhhh~ this is my most anticipated show of the year!!!

Zhang Yun Jing - Coming 7/9

Yun Jing ah Yun Jing! You always surprise me! Your songs are awesome to listen too! Two singles are out already: Broken and Opposite Me. Both songs are out of this worldddd!!! I am definitely going for her album! On the side note, she does kinda look like Arron at same angle...

Raymond Lam - Coming Soon

I heard he's releasing a mandarin album this summer! Hehehehee!

Fahrenheit 4th Album - Last I heard it's coming on Jiro's birthday

It's been a year and a half since their last album came out!!! I miss hearing Arron's voice... and I also miss Jiro's old hair, his old hair was much cooler~

Multiple Choice Test

From Weibo

Hahahahahaaa! NICE!

Do YOU know what contretemps mean? I didn't until I watched Mysteries of Love. Hahahaa! I like learning new English words from Chinese dramas! My first word was serendipity from Gem of Life. Kekeke!

Contretemps: an unfortunate accident/encounter
Serendipidity: a good unexpected discovery

Calvin Chen the new host of MTV Taiwan's Ri Han Yin Yue Feng

Source: CNA
Translated by: nastyhobbit@http://asianfanatics.net

MTV Taiwan greets the arrival of summer, and today they recorded the first episode of the new version of "Ri Han Yin Yue Feng" (Japanese and Korean music craze). Not including the new features of the show, they also invited Fahrenheit's Calvin Chen to host it.

Calvin Chen is hosting a show for the first time, and invited his good friends Jiro Wang and Joanne Zeng as his morale boosters. Didn't expect Da Dong to challenge him to test whether he is suitable to be Ri Han Yin Yue Feng's host, Da Dong and Calvin had a contest on Jpop and Kpop knowledge and dance steps.

Da Dong didn't forget to bring his new book "Van Gogh and Me" to promote. Calvin Chen also showed his own collection of photographs, including those from 2008 when Fahrenheit won an award in Korea and performed at the World Cup stadium in front of 80,000 people. And also his photo with Japanese idol group w-inds member Keita Tachibana, and some pictures of life in Nara, all will be shown on TV for the first time.

The producers expressed that Fahrenheit has been Tourism Ambassadors for Japan and South Korea for 2 years, and within the group, it was Calvin Chen who was most interested to host. Not only does he have experience in performing overseas, but he is also very proficient in English. So when they changed the program, they chose Calvin Chen to take over.

MTV stated, "Both parties are looking forward to this collaboration, and we hope that his participation can give Ri Han Yin Yue Feng a different spark." Calvin Chen towards his first show, was rather confident, and even promised that he will surely give it his best.

In order to increase interaction with the audience, MTV Taiwan also set up a Facebook fan group, and in the short 2 months the number of people reached 30,000. MTV Taiwan also expressed that this year's music summer camp will be held on August 3 to August 5 in Taoyuan, with Jam Hsiao, Yen-J, Y2J, Da Mouth, Circus, Li Yu Fen, Song Ji Yan and other big celebrities.

Yes!!! Calvin is hosting nowww!!!

Harlem Yue and Xiao S gears up for the 21st Golden Melody Awards

Source: XIN MSN

Hosts Harlem Yu and Dee Hsu (more popularly known as Xiao S) may be experienced hosts but they can't help being nervous about their latest gig - the 21st Golden Melody Awards.

At a press conference yesterday, the pair revealed that Harlem had already fallen sick twice in the lead up to the awards show.

"Harlem went down with a bad cold twice already and he's still recovering from it. For me, I keep having pimples popping up on my face," says Xiao S.

Even then both hosts seem to be in a good mood, taking friendly jibes at each other.

Harlem took a dig at his fellow co-host, who was decked in an elegant green gown and jewellery worth TWD30m(S$2.5m), saying that "it's rare to see her dressed in a presentable manner".

Harlem himself sported a TWD27m ($S1.35m) diamond ring and a low-cut suit, leading reporters to quiz about the scar on his chest.

"It's a keloidal scar that I got a few years back when I injured myself while playing basketball."

Xiao S revealed that during rehearsals for a segment in the award show, she almost ripped her clothes when she got overly zealous in performing and her "left boob almost fell out."

The saucy comedian quipped that in the event that she really does expose herself, co-host Harlem Yu can use his hands to help her cover the vital 'points'.

"He can take it as an early Father's Day present I guess."

HAHAHAAAA! Xiao S, you are hilarioussss! I hope everything goes smoothly for the two of them! Hard work will pay off in the end! Jia You!

The Green Hornet' releases U.S trailer; Jay Chou turns into tech genius

Source: BJ News
Translation: Sarah @ http://asianfanatics.net

Upcoming Hollywood action flick ‘The Green Hornet’ starring Seth Rogan, Cameron Diaz & Jay Chou released its official trailer today. In the film, Jay plays Kato, a smart tech genius who develops bizarre high-tech weapons. The film is slated to release in the U.S in January next year, and will be released in Hong Kong in early February.

The trailer is two and a half minutes long and shows many exciting scenes. Jay appears many times, evidently displaying the importance of his character. From the trailer, we can see Jay’s usual ‘cool’ style in Kato. Something also worth mentioning is his English pronunciations; it seems like a lot of hard work went into practicing English for this film.

The film was originally slated to release this year, however it has now been delayed to January 14th, 2011 due to conversion to 3D

OMG! I have to watch this cuz it's Jay Chou and everyone loves Jay Chou (you'll get shot down if you say you don't Jay Chou) Hahahaa~ jkjk! I have to compliment his English, it's pretty good, at least better than Show's English~ HAHAHHAAAA!

Episode 13 Comments: Awww, the ratings went down a bit! I'm a bit sad~ I thought episode 13 would have reached the 2s because this was by far the best episode (at least for Xin Ya and Yi Wu shippers~). The opening of the episode was a tear jerker with Yi Wu Ge breaking down and Xin Ya coming to his rescue~ There's also a BIG spoiler in this episode.

Episode 15 Comments: Wheee~ the ratings went up again! This episode's rice was bittersweet. There's the cold war that erupted between Jenny and her younger sister, Shirley. Then there was the misunderstanding between the mother and the daughter-in-law. And last, the sweet parts covered by Xin Ya and Yi Wu and Xin Ya and Charles.

Episode 16 Comments: Holy Moly!!! Just a tiny step away from 2! I cried my eyes out watching this episode. Qiu Ma Ma finally put down her baggage and reconciled with her son. Now they are a happy family of three! Hopefully, they'll turn from happy family of three to happy family of four with the addition of Yan Xin Ya~ woo! Qiu Ma Ma also passes her shop to her two sons and Kwan Ma Ma. That makes two happy mothers. Unfortunately, another mother, Ai Qi, caught her husband in bed with another woman. She lost her son and now her husband. She ends up in the hospital after her son finds her unconscious in her office (she tried to suicide with sleeping pills). Son and mother reunite and go past their misunderstandings. Awwwww~

Episode 17-19 Comments: The episodes that keep you crying and crying...

Episode 20 Comments: I'm starting to worry about Xin Ya and Yi Wu. They have SO many obstacles ahead...Xiao Yu, Yi Wu's son, Xin Ya's Mom, time...they only have one year because Xin Ya is going to study in the US after one year. And Yi Wu's son...who knows if that is true ot not...sounds true but really doubt it...*sigh*

Random Comment: Congratsss to Rice Family for breakinggg 2!!!!!

My Date with a Vampire MV

Been very busy preparing for a war with Linear Algebra. In the meanwhile, sit tight and enjoy this MV focusing on one of the most successful(popular, cool, dramatic, etc.) drama coming from HK. And it's not from TVB~. My Date with a Vampire!!! I would totally switch over to ATV just to watch this show. This show beats all current (and maybe past)shows from TVB.

The Parable of the Pencil

The Pencil Maker took the pencil aside, just before putting him into the box. There are 5 things you need to know, he told the pencil, before I send you out into the world. Always remember them and never forget, and you will become the best pencil you can be.

One: You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in Someone's hand.

Two: You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, but you'll need it to become a better pencil.

Three: You will be able to correct mistakes you will make.

Four: The most important part of you will always be what's inside.

And Five: On every surface you are used on, you must leave your mark. No matter what the condition, you must continue to write.

The pencil understood and promised to remember, and went into the box with purpose in its heart.

Such a simple story backed by a powerful meaning...

Jiro Wang loses sleep over trying to be funny

Source: Chinatimes
Credit: PA@CpopAccess

Jiro Wang is putting his Fahrenheit image aside to take on the hosting duties of a new variety show on CTS. He’s not too concerned about being labeled a comedian, as he believes a career in entertainment should cover all areas. The star said he is feeling the pressure already but he won’t be battling alone. The new show 綜藝大國民 (roughly translates to Variety Citizens) also features Local King Jacky Wu, Kang Kang-lookalike Frankie Huang (黃鐙輝), 5566’s Tony Sun and Zax Wang as his cohosts.

Jiro Wang, no armpit hair...

Jiro Wang has previously hosted a show on one of the music channels. He thought hosting simply meant standing and talking, but he found out there was a lot more to it, like filming on location, rehearsing dance numbers, practicing new talents and almost everything imaginable, “There are many things to learn, it’s like doing a concert every week.”

He is also not worried about damaging his idol image, and said his main principle is to bring laugher to the audience, “I’m a Virgo, which tend to become nervous easily. Over the past few days of preparation, along with editing my new book ‘Van Gogh and Me: Jiro Wang’s words, drawings, images’, I couldn’t sleep for more than 4 hours a day.”

The new show will premiere on June 19th at 8 pm. Tony Sun, Zax Wang, Jiro Wang and Frankie Huang attended a dance rehearsal last week, but the local king was noticeably absent. Zax Wong said, “Jacky Wu has always wanted to be in an idol group. This combo should satisfy his wish.” Jiro Wang added that their style of dance is modern, and he also reminded the production to get Jacky Wu a teleprompter.

O.O WOW! Jiro the host. Cool. I like his first picture, looks sooo coool! And dang, this news is bit sudden because I would think Calvin would be the one who do hosting and Jiro would be the one doing dramas. But anyhows, good luck to Mr. Jiro~ see you on TV soon~

Xiao Xiao Bin might miss his chance for Golden Bell recognition

Credit: PA @ CpopAccess

The super cute but super mature child star proved his acting chops last year in the hit drama Autumn’s Concerto. However, much to the surprise of many, Xiao Xiao Bin did not appear on the list that SETTV is submitting for Golden Bell (Taiwanese Emmys) consideration. SETTV’s deputy director of drama remained low-key and said nothing has been confirmed yet. In response, Xiao Xiao Bin’s manager joked, “Does the Government Information Office accept personal application? I'll submit his name then!”

Xiao Xiao Bin himself can probably care less about the Golden Bell since he’s too busy with acting, hosting, endorsements and countless appearances. He was joined by his dad Xiao Bin Bin in his latest commercial for a children’s fever cooling patch. The boy impressed everyone with tears falling from his eyes in 3 seconds for one scene. Even his dad was feeling a little worried, “Wa! That put me under a lot of pressure. I must be more serious, otherwise my son will outdo me.”

The 5 year-old Xiao Xiao Bin also got his “license” last week when he attended an event to promote road safety. Bin took a simulation road test at the new Road Safety Education Center. Although he had 32 points deducted in total, that didn't keep him from getting his sample license. Xiao Xiao Bin insisted that he drove over the lines because reporters were too eager to get a picture of him.

Motorcycle license always comes in handy in the crazy Taipei traffic.

Boys working overtime: Xiao Xiao Bin and Mini-Bin became one-day managers at a bakery event last week.

Awww, that's ok as long as Autumn's Concerto gets "Best Drama Award", everything is cool. I think not nominating him is a better choice because he's a kid and the pressure of winning or losing is just too much for a kid. Kids should do what kids do best, go outside and play~
